Greetings from Virginia
« on: January 16, 2007, 09:02:26 AM »
When I think of Finland I think of Kalmah.

Yep one Finn here in NJ.

Anyway what's up from America, I'm in Virginia, which is about 5hrs south of NJ...Seemed pointless to post another "From America" thread so I will just post here. Came across one of your videos on youtube.com and thought i would stop by.

Here's a video our club put together from Last year's Shootout

Splitted this in to new topic anyway  8-)

Your 2g looks cool. Stock look is the best look, in my oppinnion.

Ok if that's what happens when 1g meets 4g, check out these gallery pictures of what happens when 1g meets truck  8-)

Not my ride, but the owner of that 1g made it out without any bigger injuries.

I'll be in Norfolk,Virginia this week ;)  Which city you live in? Lots of car in your club. My buddy in Norfolk has Non-turbo 2g eclipse with nitrous set-up in, but I believe he's selling it now.
Anyway I like 2g cars too. 6 years ago I bought 97 GST convertible, but then this 92 AWD came in sight, so I've been a 1g guy since 2001.

Ps.I don't believe it was my video on mytube. I haven't posted any stuff overthere. I hope to be on track someday and have some videos to post.

sorry...been busy since I last posted, but better late than never, in case you ever do come down to va again, i am actually located in the Virginia Beach area as with most of the guys in our club.
right now my 2g is broken, need to get it fixed before the DSM Shootout this august.

oh we do have a guy that has a spraying 99' RS, probably not the same guy as i know he isn't selling his.

the 2g in its most recent status - still stock under the hood till hopefully next year when i can have it stroked to 2.2 (remember our 2g non-turbos don't have the 4g63 but rather the 420A)

and a recent video i made for our club showing all our members' rides that had photos of them as well as some our past meet stuff.

if i knew finnish i would jump right in a thread but i don't so i'll just post here. anyway finnish metal FTW!

Nice flick! I'm especially jealous now after seeing that... There were some pics of auto-X in the video. We don't have any of that here... Only drifting which is pretty pointless with FWD or even AWD cars. If you have any links to any good autocross videos, please post here.

You guys have pretty good group and somebody put some effort to edit that long video clip. NJ was allso busy DSM area but now since I relocated back to Finland,  we have maybe 2 or 3 1st gen GSX cars overhere and I have one of them  :)
And Mr Hopsis has one of those here at same town I live now.

lol it took me a few days to put it together. i had made another one with a couple of the same footage but from our GMU Meet up near Washington DC back in March, along the way my trans overheated and the fluid was boiling on the dipstick.
GMU 07'

now for autoX, we do have a few guys that do it. here are a couple fliks.

and one of our members that owns a wrx(not sti just has the spoiler) with straight-cut gears.

thats all we got for now,
i believe DSM Quebec has a couple rally DSMs in their club. you can catch some footage of them in action in this vid:

I just about forgot about this place. Well I don't live in virginia anymore now  living up on the Northwest coast of the country. Also no longer own my N/A 2g (got flooded). Instead I picked up a 91 Belize Green Galant VR4 about a year ago.
Here's a mod list so far
Evo 8 Suspension swap
Speed Density Conversion tuned with DS-Map - No More MAF
Venting Atmoshperically
MHI Big 16g
Evo 3 Exhaust Manifold
Evo 3 Ported o2 Housing
3" Exhaust
ETS FMIC 24x10x3 Anodized Black w/ 2.5" piping
AMG Galant Type 1 Wheels
JDM Front bumper
JDM Projector Foglights
JDM Clear Corner Turn Signals
4WS deleted
3 bolt LSD
Cruise control Deleted
Powersteering Removed - dry power rack

pics
When I first picked her up

at a Galant Meet last March, when I was still in Virginia
6 GVR4s and one N/A FWD Galant GSR

Hanging out with some Evos

A few mods later and with the AMG wheels on, but still before installing new bumper

and now with new front bumper
